DISOWNING THEIR OWN

(Welcome, Memeorandum readers. This is not my response to Sarah Palin's Facebook comments on the Terry Jones Koran-burning. For that, go here.)

Pam Geller disowns fellow Muslim-hater Terry Jones:

The 911 quran burning in Florida is a dumb idea. I don't support such acts. Book burnings are always a bad idea.

As does Muslim-hater Bill Keller:

Extremist Pastor Bill Keller, the man behind the anti-Muslim 9/11 Christian Center at ground zero, is now joining the ranks of Gen. David Petraeus and others who are speaking out against Florida pastor Terry Jones' plan to burn copies of the Quran on Sept. 11.

Keller, who opened his 9/11 Christian Center on Sunday with a sermon denouncing Islam as a "1,400-year-old lie," ... said, "this stunt is just stupid." He added that there is "no biblical support for such a thing" and "it does nothing to advance the Gospel in any way." ...

And religious blowhard Bill Donohue of the Catholic League is also distancing himself:

... Minister Terry Jones wants to show his anger at radical Muslims by burning a copy of the Koran on September 11. He is wrong morally, and he is literally endangering innocent lives.

The Koran is embraced by Muslims who are law-abiding men and women, as well as by terrorists. Jones knows this to be true, but somehow in his twisted understanding of Christianity, he thinks he has a right to insult and smear all Muslims....

So right-wingers clearly think Jones is a liability.

How long do you think it's going to be before they start declaring that he's a liberal?
